What if you could remove the frustrations with your child's Care Package?

What if you could provide the best care package for your child, without worrying about whether care agency staff are going to turn up or have the right level of training for your child's medical and emotional needs?
Care agencies in England can be overworked, over promise and fail to provide the support YOU and YOUR child's needs.

How do I know?

I've been there, and it wasn't a nice place to be.

Do you have a care agency providing support to your child due to their complex medical needs?

If so, take the quiz to see how much your care package is actually working for you?

My Story

In 2012, we had the arrival of our first child who was born with a rare genetic and life-limiting condition called Myotubular Myopathy (rare muscle condition).

In the first few years of his life, he was in and out of hospital with complications and life-threatening illnesses and during this time, we qualified for UK NHS Continuing Health Care (CHC) and had a care agency providing staff to support us to to look after him.

In 2016, we were not being provided the care staff that was required, missing shifts, staff with inappropriate training being turned away at the door at 10pm at night, so we had a difficult decision to make.

Do we carry on with missing shifts, tired, exhausted and no support or do we take on the care staff ourselves (via a Direct Payment Personal Health Budget)?

Fortunately, looking back now nearly 10 years later, we made the best decision possible. We have 12 carers working of us, the majority of them having been with us from the start and we are in full control of how our package is run and managed.

Yes, it is not an easy thing to do, but with the right support you too can achieve a more successful and less stressful was of providing care for your son/daughter.

"The quiz has made me stop and think if there are other ways for me to get the right care for my child on my terms, being the expert in their day to day care needs"
